Peugeot has a long history in France that started as a family business running a coffee mill, and manufacturing bicycles, motorcycles, and automobiles, until its car production was spun off as a separate venture in 1926.  Like other European carmakers, Peugeot was one of the pioneers in the motorsport racing industry.  It won the world’s first Paris-Rouen Motor Race with its 3 hp Peugeot that ran on the first Michelin pneumatic tyres in racing.  It continued to participate in motorsports such as the Grand Prix, Formula One, World Rally Championship and produced 5 cars awarded as the European Car of the Year from 1969 to 2017.

In Australia, Peugeot started with the assembly of selected car models in the 50s until the 80s. For some time, Peugeot also worked in collaboration with other European car manufacturers such as Renault in the 60s and Volvo in the 70s.  At about the same time, it acquired both financially troubled Citroen and Maserati but decided, later on, to keep only the former, including the European division of Chrysler (Rootes & Simca). As early as 2008, Peugeot debuted its first hybrid electric sports sedan and launched in the European market fully electric Peugeot iOn in 2010 – an enhanced version of Mitsubshi i-MiEV. 

Essentials

1. Australian-recognised trade qualification as a Motor Mechanic / Automotive Technician (Light Vehicle Mechanical)
2. Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Motor Mechanic / Automotive Technician in a Peugeot authorised dealership within the last 5 years
3. Good English communication and interpersonal skills
4. Current driver’s license

Desirable

1. Training certificate/s from Peugeot (i.e. Peugeot Certified Service Technician, Peugeot  Certified Diagnostic Technician, and/or Peugeot Certified Master Technician)
2. Excellent diagnostic skills and proficiency in all repair work on Peugeot vehicles
