BMW has owned Mini, MG, Rover, Land Rover, and Rolls-Royce for some time back in the late 1990s, including the now-defunct brands Austin and Morris.  With the tightening environmental regulations on petrol and diesel motors, BMW has halted its business acquisitions and redirected its focus on continuous research and development for alternative powertrain solutions.  At present, BMW is one of the only two manufacturers that are marketing battery-powered cars in the country.  This new direction is consistent with its vision to become the global leader in the premium manufacturing of electric/hybrid cars, and henceforth, it's rigorous specialised training of technicians to support the changing aftersales needs.   

Essential

1. Australian-recognised trade qualification as a Motor Mechanic / Automotive Technician (Light Vehicle Mechanical)
2. Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Motor Mechanic / Automotive Technician in a BMW authorised dealership within the last 5 years
3. Good English communication and interpersonal skills
4. Current driver’s license

Desirable

1. Training certificate/s from BMW (i.e. BMW Certified Service Technician, BMW Certified Diagnostic Technician, and/or BMW Certified Master Technician)
2. Excellent diagnostic skills and proficiency in all repair work on BMW vehicles
