Mazda’s history started with cork production and then tricycle trucks in Japan in the early 1930s.  It began exporting after two decades in operations until it evolved to become one of the mainstream manufacturers of four-wheel passenger cars.  Mazda entered the Australian market with the launching of its powerful Cosmo Sports Carol and the compact car R360 in the 1960s, followed by the RX-2 as the first vehicle locally produced with a rotary engine a decade later.  Recognised as the leading Japanese brand producer of more affordable, sporty compact cars, Mazda has gained the popularity among Australians and the country has consistently been one of its top 5 biggest markets for many years now. 

We are seeing SUVs growing dominance in the local market for many reasons: their off-roading capabilities, larger cargo, and passenger seating capacity, higher seating position for better all-round visibility, among others.  This trend has worked favourably for Mazda’s current SUV range (CX-3, CX-5, CX-7).  Thus, to further expand its successful product line and increase customer base, Mazda is bringing to the Australian road another SUV model, CX-8 - a seven-seater car with a diesel engine.  

Essential 

1. Australian-recognised trade qualification as a Motor Mechanic / Automotive Technician (Light Vehicle Mechanical)
2. Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Motor Mechanic / Automotive Technician in a Mazda authorised dealership within the last 5 years
3. Good English communication and interpersonal skills
4. Current driver’s license

Desirable

1. Training certificate/s from Mazda (i.e. Mazda Certified Service Technician, Mazda Certified Diagnostic Technician, and/or Mazda Certified Master Technician)
2. Excellent diagnostic skills and proficiency in all repair work on Mazda vehicles
